A recent ad on Craiglist was offering a piece of sports history.
WIS reported that someone was listing a South Carolina baseball National Championship ring for sale.
The asking price? $5,000.
The ring would have belonged to a Gamecock player or coach from the 2011 College World Series-winning team.
The ad has since been taken down, but it got me to wondering: If you had a Championship ring, could you bear to part with it?
Sports memorabilia is big business. In 1998, Mark McGwire's 70th home run ball went for $3 million.
If you had a piece of sports history, would you sell it? Or hold on to it?
Also, what items of sports history would you most like to own?
