Margaret Long Alford, 88, died Wednesday, March 13, 2013. She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Charles L. Alford.
Born in Greenville, she was the daughter of the late John Arthur and Caroline Hand Long.
Mrs. Alford was employed as the Education Secretary of Augusta Heights Baptist Church, having retired following 35 years of service. She was a member of Eastlan Baptist Church.
Surviving are her son, Charles L. Alford (Tish); her daughter, Gayle Carson; grandchildren, Lang Alford, Kasey Frank (Steve), Chad Carson (Julie) and Caroline Carson; and seven great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 16, 2013 from 10:15 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown with the funeral service following at 12:00 p.m. in the Downtown Chapel. Burial will be in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
