Responding to suggestions in Mauldin's Downtown Master Plan, the city is beginning a process to rebrand itself to residents, visitors and business.

The process kicks off in earnest this evening when the city holds a public meeting to explain the rebranding process and seek input.

A major part of the rebranding will be in producing a new logo and tagline for the city to be used in its marketing materials, as well as on signage, banners, websites and other public, visible touchpoints as the city seeks to create its own unique identity.

Some early ideas for the new logo and tagline can be viewed in the master plan.

The same consultant who helped the city with its master plan is also doing the rebranding, but this will give him a chance to focus more broadly on the city, said Mauldin's project manager Olivia Massey.

The public meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. Monday evening in Council Chambers at City Hall, located at 5 East Butler Road.
