A trio of teens are facing charges, including assault by mob, following a recent group fight at the Hadley Commons subdivision, a Mauldin Police incident report said.
Police were alerted to the fight Tuesday after a woman called to say that a large group of males had gathered to fight on Moonstone Drive, the report said.
When officers arrived they found a man identified only as "Mr. Henry" had been beaten and received minor injuries after multiple people had attacked him, the report said.
Officers located two possible suspects attempting to leave the area in a car. When they were stopped, police asked them if they had seen or knew another suspect police were looking for. The two 17-year-olds, the report said, feigned ignorance of any fight in the community and said they hadn't seen the third suspect.
However, during questioning, there came a knocking from inside the car trunk. Inside was the 15-year-old suspect police were looking for, the report said.
Later information gathered by police indicated that all three were involved in the fight, the report said. The juvenile was arrested for assault by mob, along with Joshua Coby Workman, 17, of Greenville, and Undreis Devonta Massey, 17, of Mauldin. The latter two also were charged with interfering with police by giving false information, the report said.
