A pair of tow truck drivers serving a car repossession were met by an angry owner and five of his work buddies in a disturbance earlier this week, a Mauldin Police report said.
The incident occurred this past Tuesday when two drivers were attempting to haul away a vehicle and the owner was alerted by a coworker. The vehicle's owner raced to the parking lot to get answers, alleging that the driver got aggressive and attempted to drive away with the owner's vehicle without explanation.
The owner, who jumped in front of the tow was hit slightly in the leg, but suffered no serious injury, the report said.
In addition to the upset owner, five of his coworkers also came out to the parking lot to confront the repossessors, who told police they were serving a lawful repossession order.
Though the tow truck driver said he was never assaulted, he said he and his partner felt in fear of their safety when the owner's friends became "aggressive and confrontational," the report said.
Police let the driver take the vehicle and advised the owner to take up the matter with his lien holder or the repossessing authority, the report said.
