Mauldin High School has been ranked among the nation's top high schools in a new ranking by Newsweek and the online newsite The Daily Beast.
The school was ranked 1,581st, and was one of just 19 South Carolina High Schools to make the grade.
Upstate high schools Eastside (1,571), Riverside (1,284), T.L. Hanna (1,992), Daniel (1,483), Wade Hampton (1,415) and the SC Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities in Greenville (59) also made the list.
The state's highest rated school, Academic Magnet High School in North Charleston, was ranked 20th.
Mauldin High and the other schools were cited for their graduation rates, college placement, SAT/ACT/AP scores, and AP/IB tests, among other criteria.
