Looking for a formal way to celebrate Veteran's Day this year? Here are some local events and programs:
Simpsonville
Simpsonville will honor the country's service members at a special ceremony today (Sunday) at the city's Veteran's Memorial park on S.E. Main Street. The ceremony begins at 2 p.m.
The centerpiece of the Simpsonville ceremony is a flag field at the memorial boasting thousands of American flags in honor of service members. In addition to honoring the nation's service members, the project that created the flag field, headed by Simpsonville's Mark Rodeffer, has raised more than $1,000 for the Wounded Warrior Project through flag sponsorships.
The flags will be on display until Nov. 17. There's still time to sponsor a flag or give to the Wounded Warrior Project. For more, CLICK HERE.
