The Mauldin Cultural Center just recentky announced its upcoming 2013 Season, beginning in January. The 2013 Season features nine concerts, two comedy performances, one dinner theatre production and a variety of classes and community events. The lineup is as follows:
- January 25 – Sol Junky (country/rock/bluegrass)
- February 15 – Dylan Sneed (folk/acoustic)
- February 28 – James Gregory (comedy)
- March 22 & 23 – Motherhood Out Loud (dinner theatre)
- April 12 – Gary Conrad (comedy hypnotist)
- April 19 – Betsy Franck & the Bareknuckle Band (blues/rock)
- April 20 – Viva Les Divas! A Celebration of Jazz & Blues (jazz/blues)
- April 26 – May 4 – Trains, Trains & More Trains! (presented by the Greater Mauldin Chamber of Commerce)
- May 17 – Mac Arnold & Plate Full O' Blues (blues)
- June 21 – Tom Fisch (folk)
- August 16 – West End String Band (bluegrass)
- September 20 – Underhill Rose (bluegrass/country)
- October 4 – Jean Calvert & Co. (jazz)
Classes and lessons will be offered in guitar, woodwinds, dance, visual arts, and woodcarving with many more added throughout the year.
The Mauldin Cultural Center also announces a new Membership Program for individuals and businesses. Billed as a way to “create a strong community”, the new Membership Program aims to bring together and unify the local community and beyond through the arts. Memberships are $25/person for the entire year and include perks such as member-only receptions, discounts at local businesses, free tickets to select concerts and discounts on rentals and classes. Charter Memberships, only available until January 31, 2013, are offered at the price of $100/person and include additional perks, namely a lifetime membership to the MCC.
“2013 is a very big year here at the Mauldin Cultural Center,” said George Patrick McLeer, executive director. “In 2012 we saw tremendous growth in our programs and next year we're capitalizing on that growth and providing the right mix of events, classes and memberships to really bring the community together.”
