If you're in the mood for Christmas, or perhaps need a little nudge, this is your weekend.

The cities of Mauldin, Simpsonville, and Greenville will officially kick off the holiday season beginning this weekend. And Fountain Inn will welcome the holiday season beginning next week.

Mauldin
Mauldin kicks off the festivities tonight (Friday) when the city and Greater Mauldin Chamber of Commerce host the city's annual tree lighting ceremony.

The free event begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Mauldin Cultural Center, 101 East Butler Road. In addition to the tree lighting, there will also be caroling, not to mention hot chocolate and cookies.

And on Saturday morning, the Mauldin chamber will host "Breakfast with Santa," at the Ray Hopkins Senior Center, located at 203 Corn Road.

Breakfast with Santa includes a coloring book, cookie decorating, Balloon Man, and pictures with Santa. Refreshments also will be served. Patch will be there along with other vendors, so be sure to come by and say hello.

Breakfast with Santa is a paid, ticketed event. If you haven't already gotten tickets yet, they can be purchased at the Chamber, located in the Cultural Center at 101 East Butler Road. Tix are $5 for adults, $3 for children. Tickets are limited, so act fast. For more info, and availability, call 864-297-1323, or email info2@mauldinchamber.org.

The city concludes festivities with its annual Christmas Parade, "The Music and Magic of Christmas," beginning at 2 p.m. on Saturday. The parade route will run from Mauldin High School to the Cultural Center.

Simpsonville
The City of Simpsonville will hold its annual parade, "Home for the Holidays," along Main Street on Sunday, Dec. 2. The parade begins at 3 p.m.

The Simpsonville Police Department would like to remind everyone that the roads will be closed starting at 2 p.m. so that the parade can get lined up. NE Main Street and SE Main Street will be closed from Hwy 14 and SC 417 (Near McDonalds and Bilo) to SE Main St and Loma Dr (Near the Short Stop).

Greenville
The City of Greenville will hold the annual Poinsettia Christmas Parade on Saturday, Dec. 1.

The parade through downtown Greenville will begin at 6 p.m.

This year's parade will take place on Main Street from Augusta Street to North Street.

Fountain Inn
Busy this weekend? Then enjoy some mid-week cheer. Fountain Inn will hold its annual Christmas parade, "Spirit of Christmas Past," at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 5, along Main Street. The city will also hold its tree lighting ceremony on Thursday, Dec. 6, at 6 p.m.
