Greenville County Sheriff’s Office Investigators have arrested and charged 47-year-old David Adam Young of Greenville in the early Sunday shooting death of an unidentified person at a bar on the outskirts of Mauldin.
The shooting happened around 5:30 a.m. at Bobby T's nightclub, located at 330 White Horse Road, said Deputy Jonathan Smith. Deputies found the victim lying outside the bar, reports said, and witnesses said the alleged shooter drove off in a blue Toyota.
After a brief vehicle chase with authorities, Young was apprehended and positively identified as the alleged shooter, an arrest warrant said. Young was charged with murder, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
Young has also been charged with failure to stop for a blue light and driving under suspension resulting from the vehicle pursuit following the shooting incident, Smith said.
The suspect is currently being held in the Greenville County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing, said Smith.
The coroner has yet to identify the victim; the GCSO continues to investigate the incident.
The Sunday morning murder is the second homicide in the past week in the area. On Jan. 8, 31-year-old Darilus Williams was found shot to death inside a residence on 303 Springbrook Drive, just a half-mile from this latest shooting.
