The seventh annual Mauldin High Spirit Week 5k Run/Walk will be held Saturday, January 26,, at 9 a.m. with the course beginning at Mauldin High on East Butler Road in Mauldin.
This year’s event, Stampede for Harbor, will benefit Safe Harbor, a non-profit that provides free, safe shelter and support services to victims of domestic violence and their children.
The $25 entry fee for Stampede for Harbor runners and walkers includes a t-shirt and refreshments after the race provided by Whole Foods and Chick-fil-A on Woodruff Rd.
The fee is the same for “Sleep-in for Harbor," which provides individuals with the chance to support the cause and receive a t-shirt without participating in the run/walk.
Registration for the event is available online at www.active.com where participants can search for “Stampede for Harbor,” click on the event and follow registration instructions.
Mail-in registration forms are also available at www.gomavs.net and in Mauldin High’s front office. T-shirts are guaranteed for the first 250 registrants only so individuals are encouraged to register early. Awards will be given to the top male and female finishers and the top finishers in 14 & under; 15-19; 20-29; 30-49; 50-69; and 70 and over.
