A Greenville man allegedly exposed his genitals and made a lewd comment to two female Mauldin store employees, according to a Mauldin Police Department incident report.

John Anthony Leverette, 55, of 11 Meadow St. in Greenville, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and indecent exposure of a sexual nature following the alleged incident, which occurred Jan. 26, the report said.

Police apprehended and questioned the suspect outside Tractor Supply on South Main Street, the report said. Leverette, the report said, appeared to be intoxicated and reportedly told police he had had "4 or 5 Ice House Beers," before coming to Mauldin on the bus from Greenville. He reportedly told police a bus driver would not let him back on the bus later because of his condition.

A cashier at Tractor Supply said that before the incident Leverette had come into the store yelling at her and the manager to call someone for him. The cashier, the report said, alleged that Leverette then made an obscene oral-sex related comment to her before leaving the store.

More seriously, Leverette also is alleged to have made an appearance at the nearby Miracle Hill Thrift Store at 206 New Neely Ferry Road, the report said. A female employee there alleged that Leverette sat in a chair inside the store "with his genitals out."

"She said that he was pointing at them and smiling at her. Mr. Leverette was then touching his penis," the report said.

Leverette was issued a citation for disorderly conduct, and an arrest warrant for the indecent exposure charge, and later booked into the Greenville County Detention Center. He now faces a Feb. 27 court appearance on the charges, the report said.
