Most guys would simply ask a girl to attend prom with them. Andrew Crocker decided to go big and make a production out of it — literally.

And the 17-year-old Hillcrest High senior's elaborately planned YouTube "promposal" to 16-year Chloe Lebegue not only got him the girl, it also has garnered his video thousands of hits on the website — more than 13,000 so far, and counting, according to a WSPA report.

"I'm not the kind of guy who would just ask," Crocker told the station. "I like to do something big."

It's not as if Crocker is the kind of kid who might have major difficulty getting the girl. In addition to being a talented musician, he's also an athlete who plays on the soccer team and has been a quarterback and kicker on the Rams' football team. Still, Crocker said he still wasn't sure if his very public gamble would pay off with a date.

"I thought of all the things that could have gone wrong," Crocker told the station. "She could have said no. But thankfully, it went perfect. Better than I could have imagined."

Lebegue said the promposal took her by complete surprise, and it's a memory she will keep forever. "It was the most special, sweetest thing anybody's ever done for me. It's something I'll remember when I'm 80 and tell my grandkids," she told WSPA.
