With "Rivalry Week"  now underway, the 4th Annual Donate Life Duel is in full swing, registering fans of the University of South Carolina Gamecocks and the Clemson University as organ, eye and tissue donors.

Donate Life South Carolina, LifePoint and The Heather Trew Foundation are partnering with various student organizations to host the 4th Annual Donate Life Duel. Events are taking place on both campuses to sign up donors before Saturday's game.

The Donate Life Duel began on Oct. 1. As of Tuesday, the Gamecocks have the lead with only three registrations separating the two teams.

The Gamecocks have 693 registrations (50.11%) and the Tigers have 690 registrations (49.89%). We now have over 1,380 registrations. This may be the closest Donate Life Duel ever, according to Donate Life officials.

Because the Donate Life Duel has an online component, it gives all fans of the Clemson University Tigers and University of South Carolina Gamecocks the opportunity to show their school spirit while saving lives.

The friendly competition between supporters of both schools allows them to help their side win by signing up more organ/eye/tissue donors on the secure online South Carolina Organ and Tissue Donor Registry at DonateLifeSC.org

This annual Donate Life Duel will continue through November 23, 2012 at 11:59 p.m.

Clemson has won the Donate Life Duel three years in a row. More than 5,350 individuals have signed up in the S.C. Organ, Eye, and Tissue Registry through the Donate Life Duel.
