These things are huge and smelly!

Some folks waited nearly two hours to catch just a brief glimpse of some of the biggest stars from The Greatest Show on Earth.

Sitting on the curbs the line the streets of downtown Greenville, young and old alike gathered to wait the arrival of the elephants from Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus.

Moms attempted to corral children in strollers, in their laps and to contain their excitement as the creatures came closer to view.

Two boys played hide and go seek around one of the big oak trees outside the church. Batman rested his head on his dad.

Only one child slept through the entire scene.

It was just after 10 a.m. when the crowd spotted the group of Asian elephants making their way up Washington Street to Academy Street on their way to the BI-LO Center.

Children from The Academy at First Presbyterian Church located on Washington Street took time out from the studies to see the huge beasts pass by their school.
