After a Wednesday night hospital visit, a Monarch Elementary student is recuperating after his mother said a bully attacked him and caused a brain injury.
The incident is being investigated by the Greenville County Sheriffs Office after the parents of 10-year-old Austin Glenn filed a report, reported FOX Carolina.
The boy allegedly suffered a head bruise and brain injury, the report said, and the parents want to know how it happened.
The boy's mother, Kendra Glenn, said her husband picked up her son after being called by a teacher and took him to an emergency room, but complained the teacher didn't call 911 immediately, even though the teacher said the boy was suffering an apparent seizure.
In a statement, Greenville County Schools spokesman Oby Lyles said:
"How they (two students) became involved and how the injury occurred are being determined. In responding to the incident, the teacher did not follow proper procedures by immediately informing the administration who would have contacted EMS and the parents."
An investigation into the incident continues.
